Liveryman Emma Hammett awarded British Empire Medal in the King’s Birthday Honours 2024

Emma Hammett Emma Hammett, Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Nurses, has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the King’s birthday honours for her outstanding service to first aid training, accident prevention and a campaign to reduce the devasting impact of knife crime.

Emma has a lifetime experience of saving lives in frontline A&E services.  She was motivated by the numerous occasions during her nursing career that revealed the immense importance of prompt and appropriate first aid, and how this affects the speed and extent of someone’s recovery. Emma has demonstrated unswerving commitment to bringing to reality a nationwide first aid training programme which has empowered many hundreds of people with the skills necessary for saving lives.
