Signing of the Armed Forces Covenant – 23 April 2024

At the Annual Assembly on Tuesday 23 April 2024 the Master, Elizabeth Bardolph, signed the Armed Services Covenant on behalf of the Worshipful Company of Nurses.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation, ensuring that those who serve, or have served in the Armed Forces and their families are treated fairly.  It recognises the unique obligations and sacrifices, made by the Armed Forces at home and overseas. A pdf of the signed Covenant is here.

In line with many other Livery Companies and organisations the Worshipful Company of Nurses have adopted the Covenant to demonstrate our support for the Armed Forces Community.

The Master was delighted to welcome LT Cdr Liz Church from the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) to attend the signing and also Lt Col Jo Cooke, a Senior Reserve QA Officer and Freeman of the Company, representing the Armed Forces.  The RFCA is composed of thirteen associations who advise and support the Ministry of Defence, the Army, Navy and Air Force on matters that concern reserves and cadets.

Thanks were given by the Master to Liveryman Deirdre Barr, the Company’s Military Liaison Officer for working so hard to bring the arrangements for the signing together.
