Livery Companies have long supported the Armed Forces and most Companies continue to support one or more regular, reserve or cadet forces units. Some Companies have an obvious connection based upon shared professional interests , while others may be based on historical context. Such affiliations provide an opportunity for Companies to demonstrate their support for members of His Majesty’s Armed Forces, and to recognise those individuals who contribute the most within their respective units.
The Worshipful Company of Nurses is affiliated to the Central Reserve Headquarters Army Medical Services (CRHQ). CRHQ comprises three nationally recruited units which form part of the additional resources available to support the wider Army Medical Services. Nurses are an intrinsic part of all these units, providing specialist skills, knowledge, experience and leadership.
The Units are:
- Medical Operations Support Group- provides specialist individuals or small teams to support the Army Medical Services.
- 335 Medical Evacuation Regiment- provides the British Army with dedicated medical evacuation capability to support the military on operations or exercises across the world.
- 306 Hospital Support Regiment- this unit acts as the manpower support capability to support the Army Medical Services globally.
