Livery Company Volunteer Platform
Through the Livery Company Volunteer Platform, Freemen of the Worshipful Company of Nurses can volunteer for outreach work to schools. The purpose of this is to reach out to young people and be able to create conversations about the profession of nursing.
The volunteering platform is supported by two leading charities – Speakers for Schools (https://www.speakersforschools.org/) and Inspiring The Future (https://www.inspiringthefuture.org/).
Through this partnership Liverymen and Freemen of our Company, as well as members from other Livery Companies and Guilds can sign up and offer:
- In-school and virtual speaker opportunities to inspire and motivate students
- Provide access to meaningful work experience
- Take part in mock interviews and CV workshops

Once a year, Speakers for Schools and Inspiring The Future will provide a report back to each Livery and Guild on the activities of their members, including:
- The activities each member has completed
- Volunteering time
- Feedback from the volunteer
- Feedback from the school
The partnership is free of charge to all Livery Companies and Guilds and therefore provides an excellent way for us to scale-up the volunteering opportunities with local schools to help increase the employability of students. The schools are also able to sign up for free with the two charities to receive these excellent support and enrichment services.
Working with Future Frontiers
We have developed a partnership with this charitable education organisation who support young people from lower income backgrounds to enable them to fulfil their potential. Future Frontiers provide a programme of career coaching and access to professional role models. The aim is to inspire young people to learn at school and ensure that those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds are able to get the education, training and employment they need to have a successful future.
The Worshipful Company of Nurses and its members supports this work by:
