Christine Anderson JP
Christine trained as a nurse at the Nightingale School of Nursing at St Thomas’ Hospital, London. She worked as a staff nurse and then charge nurse in surgery and paediatrics and is the proud wearer of her Nightingale badge.
As a naval wife based in Plymouth and Faslane she again worked in general surgery and paediatrics before raising her own children. She furthered her career when living in Surrey, developing and leading social care provision in the community for 20 years drawing on her nursing experience.
In the late 1990s she became a Magistrate in Surrey and is still on the bench. For the last 10 years she has specialised in family law and is currently entering her 31st year as a JP.
She joined the Guild of Nurses in 2016, and then Court during the pandemic, becoming Chair of the Social Committee shortly afterwards. She is delighted to be Master of the Worshipful Company of Nurses during the tenth anniversary year and looks forward to sharing the celebrations with members of the Company and the wider Livery community.
Christine is a keen backgammon player and was instrumental in running the backgammon group at the RAC Club in Epsom. In her remaining spare time she enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren.
