Thursday 25th June saw the Company of Nurses’ inaugural virtual quiz. There was a good uptake from members and there were twelve teams in total, with names ranging from The Bedpanners, The Sluice Room and Matron Knows best! Teams varied in size, but most had two or three people in them. The quiz hosts were Nicola Neale and Geoff Wheat from the Social Committee with Jane Burch as score keeper, also a member of the Social Committee. There were four rounds in total, which were; Cryptic towns and cities, a picture round called Carry on Nurse, Strap lines and Slogans and the 4th round was School’s out. There was also a 5th round in reserve should participants have wanted to carry on and there was a resounding thumbs up to the Seasons to be cheerful round.
There was some nervousness, as it was our first online quiz, and we wondered whether people would be ‘quizzed out’, but there was a great sense of relief when people started to post comments on what an enjoyable quiz and evening it had been with Freeman saying “Thanks to you all for such a fun evening. It was a fun to see so many new faces after weeks of isolation”. This now opens up the possibility for further Company of Nurses virtual quizzes and events – so watch this space!
