Immediate Past Master helps judge the Student Nursing Times Awards 2022

The Immediate Past Master Fran Davies was delighted to be invited as a judge for the Student Nursing Times Awards in the category of Post Registration Learner. There were many applications and shortlisting was tough. The seven finalists were interviewed face to face and then came the difficult decision of picking one winner.

All shortlisted candidates were invited to the Awards dinner at Grosvenor House Hotel, London on May 27th 2022 and the winners were announced at the ceremony. Fran was very privileged to be invited as one of the judges and had a ring side seat to watch all the fun. It was a splendid occasion starting with the Nursing Times Editor, Steve Ford, opening the ceremony in his “penguin suit”. There was lots of excitement and cheers as the winners were announced and the room was buzzing with everyone enjoying the opportunity to celebrate in person.

The Immediate Past Master was also delighted to meet up with two of the Florence Nightingale Foundation Scholars who have been sponsored by the Company of Nurses Charitable Trust, Lisa Abbott and Rob Waterson (pictured). Fran said after the event “a lovely event all round and I can honestly say that the future of nursing is in good hands after hearing of some of the initiatives and services that the candidates were leading.”
