Just before the start of the pandemic, the current Master of the Worshipful Company of Nurses, Elizabeth Bardolph, presented the Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) with a portrait that was painted of her in her second year of nurse training at St Thomas’ Hospital.
The Master and Past Master, Fran Davies, were delighted to attend the Florence Nightingale Foundation offices on Monday 11 December to meet Greta Westwood, CEO of the Foundation and to see the portrait hanging in the FNF offices.
They were joined by two FNF scholars who have been supported by the Worshipful Company of Nurses Charitable Trust.
Rob Waterson completed his course during 2023. He is currently Dean of the School of Health, Sport & Bioscience at the University of East London. During his year undertaking the scholarship he was promoted to this role. Jason Flannigan-Salmon works at NHS England as a Senior National Programme Manager for the Same Day Emergency Care programme and started the FNF scholarship in May this year. He is already finding it beneficial and is enjoying building networks with fellow nurses on the course.
Both scholars are most grateful for the support from The Worshipful Company of Nurses and the Charitable Trust is delighted to work with the FNF. Seeing the portrait displayed of our current Master was a very special occasion.
