United Guilds Service – 15 Mar 2024

The Master and Upper Warden before the UGS

The annual United Guilds Service (UGS) started after the Second World War to celebrate and give thanks for all the City Livery Companies.

This years’ service took place on 15 March and saw St Paul’s Cathedral filled to capacity with Masters, Wardens, and Company members, together with the City of London Corporation.

The Master, Upper Warden and Clerk gathered with other Liveries at Apothecaries’ Hall to process to the Cathedral.  It made a colourful spectacle as the procession, in full regalia, walked through the narrow streets in time honoured fashion.

After the pomp and ceremony of the service, members of the Company returned to Apothecaries’ Hall for luncheon, hosted by the Master Apothecary.
