Tour of Palace of Westminster

On Monday 6th November after meeting up for a coffee and a chat in the Jubilee Café, 12 members and guests met up with our informative and amusing guide, Nick in the 11th Century Westminster Hall. The tour lasted just over 75 minutes and included the magnificent Queens Robing Room, Royal Gallery, Lords Chamber, Members Lobby and the Commons Chamber.

After lunch and more chat, we re-convened and took our seats in the public gallery of the Commons Chamber. We were especially lucky as we saw The Rt Hon Anne Milton MP, a Guild Founder Warden answering questions on apprenticeships during Education questions. We were then able to observe questions and answers on the topical Paradise Papers followed by a Grenfell Recovery Taskforce statement. It was a fascinating and interesting insight into the workings of parliament.

Many thanks to Anne Milton and her team for arranging the day for us. A further visit is planned for 2018 and I would thoroughly recommend it.
