Thursday 8 May, Evensong and Reception to Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the End of the Second World War
Honoured that the Company was asked to represent nurses at the VE Day Evensong Service at St Paul’s on Thursday 8 May alongside others from the emergency services and armed forces. The Master and six nurses from the Company attended, including an apprentice of the Company currently studying for his nursing degree, and one of the current scholars supported in her studies by the Company of Nurses Charitable Trust.
A very special service of readings and music celebrating resilience and fortitude of the people of London both in 1945 and today. The service was attended by Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Lord Mayor, Sheriffs and Aldermen of the City of London. The Master was among the represented professions who read prayers.
