The Master’s Visits

The Master has had a busy few days at the start of September

On Friday 4 September several Masters attended the opening of the gates at Temple Bar in honour of Samuel Pepys. They heard readings from his diaries and were escorted by the Musketeers and Pikemen from the Honourable Artillery Company.

On Monday 7 September The Master and Clerk joined other companies on 20th Livery Halls walk organised by the Company of Environmental Cleaners.

This was the largest group ever with 31 Masters and many consorts attending.

The day started with bacon rolls at Apothecaries’ Hall followed by coffee at Ironmongers’ Hall and then a lovely lunch at Armourers’ Hall.

Overall 39 halls were visited and the walk finished at Southwark Cathedral.

On Wednesday 9 September the Master attended a timely defence and security briefing organised by The Lady Mayor’s office.

This briefing was for Masters and a large group of military and other professions
