The Company of Nurses receives a commendation from The Lord Mayor 19th July 21
On Monday 19th July the Master was thrilled to attend an award ceremony at the Mansion House at the invitation of The Lord Mayor to receive a COVID-19 award on behalf of the Company. She was accompanied by Freemen Geoff Wheat, Tony McLean and Hilary Andrews.
The Lord Mayor wished to recognise individual Liverymen who had made a special contribution during the pandemic, and The Company was invited to nominate a Freeman. We responded that it would be impossible to single out an individual when so many of our Freemen have contributed so much during this time, and the Master was pleased that this was acknowledged, and the Company received a special commendation from the Lord Mayor.
This was an award for the whole of our profession and recognises the incredible work that was undertaken across all specialties and in many settings by colleagues across the country.
