Sparkling Afternoon Tea and Freedom Ceremony Monday – 9th March 2020

A traditional Guild Ceremony followed by an afternoon tea reception was held in the lovely setting of The Members Dining Room at Guildhall. We were delighted that 21 new Freemen of the Guild were able to make their declarations to the Guild of Nurses in front of the Immediate Past Master, Wardens, Court Assistants and Honorary Clerk. Our Sponsoring Alderman Sir Andrew Parmley was able to join us for part of the afternoon along with existing Freemen of the Guild and many guests.  Our Master, Liz Turnbull was, unfortunately, unable to attend the afternoon as she was unwell.

The Ceremony is a lovely opportunity for the Guild Freemen to show their family and friends some of the formal aspects of the City Livery.  Following the formal part of the afternoon, a delightful buffet afternoon tea was served along with sparkling wine and cups of tea. Freemen and their guests were free to circulate, make new acquaintances and renew friendships with colleagues, some not seen for a number of years!

Photographs of the afternoon are available to view and download in the Freemen Only section of the website.
