Sparkling Afternoon Tea and Freedom Ceremon

Monday 19th February 2018

The Members Dining Room at Guildhall was the lovely setting for an Admission to the Freedom  Ceremony where 15 Freemen of the Guild made their declarations to the Guild of Nurses in front of the Master, Wardens, Court Assistants and Honorary Clerk. The Ceremony is a lovely opportunity for the Guild Freemen to show their family and friends some of the formal aspects of the City Livery.  The Guild also had as its guest the Revd Stephen Stavrou who is to be the Master’s Chaplain during 2018/19. Following the formal part of the afternoon, a delightful buffet afternoon tea was served along with a glass of sparkling wine and plenty of cups of tea. During this part of the afternoon, Freemen and their guests were free to circulate and as is usual at Guild events, retired and practising nurses were able to chat at length – some catching up with old colleagues from training days!

Photographs of the afternoon are available to view and download in the Freemen Only section of the website
