Professional Group Advisory – inaugural event – Tue 21 Apr 2026

The Professional Group Advisory group presented its inaugural Round Table event in April. The Hybrid event was attended by members of the Worshipful Company of Nurses. This successful activity was organised by two Liverymen Linda Aldous and Ruth Bailey. The topic area focused on the experience of Menopause in the Workplace. Speakers raised issues from a human resource perspective, a national policy/strategy perspective with several takeaway messages related to what good practice could look like. The round table event was unanimous in advocating a holistic, person-centred care approach. Menopause is a predictable and manageable phase of life, without the appropriate support however, it can become a trigger that may result in skilled workers being compromised in the workplace and even leaving their work.

The question is no longer whether action is needed; rather, to translate evidence into practice through, coordinated and sustained action.
