The winner of this year’s Military Trophy is Liveryman Lt Colonel Robin McMahon. The trophy and a framed certificate were presented at the Company Dinner on Thursday 20 November by the Master. Robin is a Senior Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in the NHS who has served for 15 years in the reserves with 306 Hospital Support Regiment. 306 Regiment is one of the three regiments that come under the umbrella of Central Reserve Headquarters Army Medical Services (CRHQ) the Company’s affiliated military unit.

Lt Col Robin McMahon was nominated for the Worshipful Company of Nurses Military Nursing Award by the Commanding Officer of 306 Hospital Support Regiment, Colonel Kevin Forbes. Colonel Forbes says-

“He was nominated for exemplary leadership during the challenging deployment of Exercise HAKARA SERPENT in Kenya. Demonstrating calm authority and professional acumen, he engaged proactively with the command of 202 Mobile Medical Regiment and ensured the seamless integration of the 306 Hospital Support Regiment contingent, establishing clear clinical governance, robust patient pathways, and effective rota management in an austere environment. His deliberate focus on interoperability and respectful liaison with our Kenyan hosts fostered close working partnerships, enhanced mutual trust, and raised the standard of care delivered to service personnel and local beneficiaries alike. Throughout, Lt Col McMahon modelled compassion, cultural sensitivity, and mission-first discipline—galvanising his team, safeguarding patient safety, and delivering consistently excellent clinical outcomes. His performance reflects great credit on himself, his unit, and Defence nursing, and is wholly deserving of this award.”
