Military Trophy Winner 2024, Major Pauline Neilson

The Master was delighted to present Major Pauline Neilson with the Worshipful Company of Nurses Military Trophy and a framed certificate at the Company Dinner on Thursday 21 November 2024.

Major Neilson is a Nursing Officer and was recommended by Lt. Col. Sharon Stewart, ARRC, VR., Commanding Officer Medical Operations Support Unit. Pauline has demonstrated exceptional leadership in nursing, great knowledge of military healthcare governance alongside the highest quality of attention to detail. She has undertaken a thorough review of progress with the Health Assurance Framework (HAF) and created an in-depth plan to achieve full compliance which has been implemented by the team she created from within the unit. Major Neilson is said to be a true role model for the nursing profession, showing patience, and compassion and setting standards for those around her.

In addition, Pauline has devoted her time over the last 18 months to caring for her husband, who has sadly suffered a catastrophic stroke unfortunately resulting in locked-in syndrome. She attends the hospital each day to visit and care for him.
