The Master was delighted to present Major Domini Barrett with the Worshipful Company of Nurses Military Trophy and a framed certificate at the Company Dinner on Wednesday 22 November.
Domini is a paediatric nurse at Salisbury Hospital. She has 32 years unblemished service in the Army Reserve, including two tours in Afghanistan, and is currently the Senior Nursing Officer in 306 Hospital Support Regiment. In this role she has taken the lead in developing the nurses providing individual career advice and group training opportunities. Through engagement with the command team and external agencies she has also helped to maximise the advancement of nursing within the regiment.
In addition to her role as Senior Nursing Officer, Domini is a qualified Girl Guider and assists in running a weekly Rainbows Guiding Unit in Tidworth. Domini is also active in the leadership of the Royal Army Chaplains Department Spouses Group, and in successive postings has been an active member of the local Military Wives Choir.
The contribution she makes to her Regiment and to the wider military community were judged by her Commanding Officer to be worthy of special recognition and he had great pleasure in nominating her as the inaugural winner of The Worshipful Company of Nurses Military Trophy.
