Livery Halls Walk – 5 Sep 22

The Company of Nurses was invited along with 20 other Livery Companies to join in this Lord Mayor's fund-raising event which is facilitated by the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners. The Master, Julia Mingay and Immediate Past Master, Fran Davies were delighted to participate in the walk.

The Master reports, 'We set off from HQS Wellington at 8am and walked through 40 Livery Halls around the City of London, completing our journey at Southwark Cathedral. This was a wonderful guided tour, visiting a number of Halls on our way and battling our way through spectators' comments of "old people wearing fancy clothes"!

The conclusion at Southwark Cathedral was very special as we were introduced to the two new gargoyles on the Cathedral. One, celebrating the cat who had lived and worked for many years in the Cathedral and the second, remembering the First Responder to the London Bridge terrorist attack.

The camaraderie was special and places the Company of Nurses centre stage for our collaborative work with other Companies'.

Photographs taken on the day of the halls visited are here.
