Joint Symposium at Apothecaries Hall

Challenges and Opportunities in the Management of Acute and Chronic Wounds

The Worshipful Company of Nurses was really excited to be part of the Society of Apothecaries and Company of Armourers and Braziers joint symposium on the Challenges and Opportunities in the Management of Acute and Chronic Wounds at Apothecaries Hall. Speakers included experts from acute trauma, first responders, knife crime prevention, eye injury experts, academia, early stage technology companies, global wound treatment providers, policy development and industry. Freeman Caroline Hughesdon spoke of the unmet needs in chronic wound care from a nursing perspective.

The final session demonstrated how the life science initiative report, which was delivered in September, is being taken forward with the aim of making London the global Centre for life science research and development.

A thought provoking and insightful day perfectly demonstrating the relevance of Livery Companies in today’s world of health and industry.
