House of Commons Dinner 2019
On the 11th February 54 Freemen and their guests attended a black tie dinner in the glorious surroundings of the Palace of Westminster.
Following drinks overlooking the river, we were treated to a delicious three-course dinner. The Rt Hon Anne Milton ( MP), one of our founder wardens, gave a most entertaining and informative speech. We were fortunate to have a reply from Alderman and Sheriff Vincent Keaveny. He spoke amusingly about what it is like being sheriff, its history and how it relates to activities within the city of London. We were delighted he was able to come, taking time out of his very busy schedule. His wife Amanda is a Guild member and she brought him along.
Our thanks go to Anne for hosting this lovely occasion; to John Allen, our honorary clerk, and to Hilary Andrews, social committee chair, for organising this event.
