Freedom and Livery Ceremonies – 23 April 2024

On 23 April the Worshipful Company of Nurses held Freedom and Livery ceremonies in the Court Room at Information Technologists’ Hall. We welcomed twelve applicants who were admitted to the Freedom of the Company and six Freemen made their declarations and were clothed in Livery.

Congratulations to all our new Freemen and Liverymen.

Additionally at this ceremony the Master bestowed the title of Honorary Freeman to the Reverend Canon Charles Pickstone. Charles agreed to become the Foundation Chaplain to the fledgling Guild of Nurses in 2016 and has been our Honorary Chaplain since those early days. The Company is forever thankful for his continued guidance and contribution to the Company over the years.

After the formal proceedings, a reception was held for the newly admitted Freemen, Liverymen, their friends and families and other Company members. This was an opportunity for everyone present to celebrate and enjoy the fellowship that belonging to a Livery Company brings.

Freemen and Liverymen of the Company will be able to view photographs of the event in the “Gallery” in the log-in section of the website.
