Festival of the Clergy Support Trust Tuesday 21st May 2019
On Tuesday, May 21st, a sunny afternoon, 12 members from The Guild of Nurses gathered at the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral. We were there to attend the 365th Festival of the Clergy Support Trust (formerly Sons and Friends of the Clergy).
At the start of the service it was with much delight and pride that we saw our recently installed Master, Elizabeth Turnbull, take her place as our representative in the procession along with other Masters, Prime Wardens, Sheriffs, The Lord Mayor and the Bishop of London.
The fine music this year was provided by the choirs of St Paul’s Cathedral, Canterbury Cathedral and Coventry Cathedral. During the service the testimonials of 2 recipients of the Clergy Support Trust gave life to the work of the charity.
Afterwards, 10 members of the Guild enjoyed a 3 course meal at a local restaurant. During the evening there was much talk of the Guild and reminiscing of nursing days gone by.
