Leader behaviours that promote organisational resilience: a multiple-case study of NHS Trusts

Dr Barbara Bradbury TD, PhD, MPhil, BSc(Hons), RGN, AFHEA, Senior Research Fellow, University of Southampton and Liveryman of the Company presented her doctoral research into Leadership Behaviours, Resilience and Improvement. She identified the key behaviours of leaders in two NHS Trusts in response to CQC in-depth inspections in order to obtain long-term, sustainable improvement. The relevance of her findings to the latest re-organisation of the NHS, with the introduction of Integrated Care Systems, together with the presentation of a new theoretical framework regarding the development of organisational resilience were also discussed.
