The Court of Assistants of the Company of Nurses held a meeting in Guildhall, London on 9 December.
Master Frances Davies, reported that she had had a very busy few months representing the Company at many events including Remembrance Day and the Silent Ceremony where Alderman Vincent Keaveny was installed as the new Lord Mayor. The Company is delighted that the Lady Mayoress, Amanda Keaveny, is a nurse and Freeman of our Company.
Reports and recommendations were discussed from each of the Standing Committees and the Progression Steering Group. A report was presented by Middle Warden Janet Oxlade, from the Grant of Arms steering group, updating the Court on the Grant of Arms appeal. It was unanimously decided that the Company of Nurses can now formally petition for a Coat of Arms.
7 applications to the Freedom of the Company were ratified at this meeting.
The Court of Assistants will meet next on 8 February 2021.
