Common Hall, Guildhall – Mon 29 Sep 2025

Master, Hilary Andrews, and Liverymen of the Company attended Common Hall on Monday 29 September 2025 for the election of 679th Lord Mayor of London, one of the City of London’s most important occasions.

Common Hall in September, usually on Michaelmas Day, brings together Liverymen from all Livery Companies for the annual election of the Lord Mayor. The Master of The Worshipful Company of Nurses as Company 111 led the procession of Masters’ at Guildhall.

Alderman Dame Susan Langley was elected and has set a precedent by becoming the City’s very first Lady Mayor.

All Liverymen are entitled to attend Common Hall. Tickets are free and distributed through the Clerk. To vote, a Liveryman must have been clothed prior to May in the preceding year.

Following the election, The Master and 13 members of the Company joined with other Livery Companies for a lunch in the splendid surroundings of Armourers’ Hall.
