Careers Event at “Echoes across the Century Exhibition” Guildhall Art Gallery

“Echoes across the Century” has been an exhibition in the Guildhall Art Gallery from Spring of this year. On Tuesday 11th July, a careers event was held at the exhibition with 16 professionals from the Livery world giving information and personal stories to over 120 students and staff from London Schools.
The Guild of Nurses were represented at this event by Guinevere Foley and Sally Mears. Guinevere says “It was a pleasure to represent the Guild at such a prestigious event. Echoes Across the Century was an exhibition evoking memories of conflict and bravery in WW1. Sally and I stood amongst the exhibits on the 'Hospital Ships' project area which had been created by school children from two London schools. The students visiting the exhibition were excited and interested and we answered questions ranging from, “what do nurses do”? to “is that photograph really from the war”? It was great fun being amongst lively young people".
The exhibition has now closed and "Echoes" will go into storage at the Museum of Military Medicine at Keogh Barracks until the new year when it be curated for a further exhibition there from January to June 2018.
