Burma Star Association Memorial Event: Saturday – 15 Aug 2026

The Burma Star Association Memorial Event at the National Memorial Arboretum was an informal visit by several Livery Masters at the invitation of Master Fueller to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Chindit Campaign and the Burma Star Association.

The Master and her Consort met with George Durrant, the last surviving member of the Burma Campaign of World War II, and this was a very special moment for them both. There was an RAF flypast with the Hercules Bomber and Spitfire.

By coincidence, Liveryman Colonel David Bates ARRC was attending in another capacity to lay a wreath at the Burma Star Memorial. Master and Consort visited various monuments to honour nurses who saw service in World War II and other conflicts around the world.
