Annual Woolmen Sheep Drive – Sun 27 Sep 2026
On Sunday 27 September the Company was represented at the Annual Woolmen Sheep Drive, by the Master and a large number of Company members.
This event celebrates the ancient right of Freeman of the City (established in around 1180), to drive their livestock across the Thames toll free - the livestock was then walked directly to Smithfield Market. This tradition has been a public event since 2013, and The Woolman Sheep Drive and Livery Fair has become one of the City's most distinctive and iconic civic events.
As a Company we were split into 2 groups, and we drove 'our' sheep over a section of Southwark Bridge before meeting up outside Vintner's Hall for a group photograph.
