Admission to the Freedom Ceremony and Evening Reception Wednesday 11th April 2018

A further 16 Freemen made their declarations in front of the Master, Wardens, Court Assistants, Honorary Clerk and other guests at this evening’s event. The formal part of the evening consisted of the Honorary Clerk reading the Declaration and each candidate being led by the Beadle to be presented by the Upper Warden to the Master for each to declare their oath.  Each Freeman briefly wears the nurse’s cloak to sign the Register and accept the hand of friendship from the Master. Following this, there was an excellent speech from The Master, Brenda Griffiths with this being Brenda’s last ceremony of this kind before the Installation of the new Master in May.

In total, there were around 50 Freemen and guests who then enjoyed the more informal part of the evening, a buffet two-course supper where Freemen and their guests can catch up with old colleagues and make new friends amongst the membership of the Guild.

Photographs of the evening are available to view and download in the Freemen Only section of the website.
